The Brantford 99ers failed to take advantage of their power play opportunities and the Guelph Hurricanes shook off a number of penalties to win, 6-2.

Guelph was led by Brody Milne, who tallied one goal and one assist. Milne scored 19:27 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Guelph. Sebastian Stangherlin picked up the assist.

The Hurricanes put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Brantford to score on any of its six power plays. Guelph forced the 99ers goalie Andrew Lefebvre to work between the pipes, taking 42 shots.

Guelph additionally got points from Stefano Pezzetta, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Ryan Burns, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Guelph included Cameron Stokes, Ryan Waterhouse, and Alex Ritchie, who each put in one. More assists for Guelph came via Jake Wyse, who had two and Liam Kendall, Noah Cameron, and Lucas Dybowski, who each chipped in one.

Brantford was led by Justin Donnelly, who had one goal and one assist. Donnelly scored 13:56 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Brantford. Macklin McPhee assisted on the tally. Brett Parsons also scored for Brantford.

Jason DaSilva made 28 saves for the Hurricanes on 30 shots. Guelph incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. The 99ers' Lefebvre stopped 36 shots out of the 42 that he faced. Brantford incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
