Stratford blows out Cambridge, 4-1

The Cambridge Winter Hawks had trouble finding ways to stop the Stratford Cullitons, which beat Winter Hawks, 4-1.

Stratford's penalty kill excelled, as the Cullitons gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Stratford stifled Cambridge's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Cullitons forced the Winter Hawks goalie Scott Patton to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

Stratford was led by Justin Graham, who had one goal and two assists. Graham scored 2:33 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Stratford. Tanner Hertel picked up the assist. Drew Gross also scored for Stratford. More assists for Stratford came via Deven Kropf, Anthony Kotsovos, Jack Scanlan, Dylan Lebold, and Josh Higgins, who each chipped in one.

Cambridge could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Carson Poulin made 23 saves for the Cullitons on 24 shots. Stratford incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Patton rejected 30 shots on goal for the Winter Hawks. For Cambridge, Jake Beard was ejected from the game.
