The Chatham Maroons' Ross Krieger scored 3:28 into overtime to beat the St. Thomas Stars, 5-4 (OT). Chatham's penalty kill excelled, as the Maroons gave up one goal despite allowing eight power plays. Chatham was paced by Krieger, who grabbed one goal and one assist. The Maroons forced St. Thomas goalie Dan Black to work between the pipes, taking 44 shots. Chatham's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Maroons finished with 36 penalty minutes. Chatham also got points from Connor McKinnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Gus Ford, who also registered one goal and two assists to lead the team in points, and Austin Thompson, who also had one goal and one assist. Chatham also got a goal from Ian Faubert as well. More assists for Chatham came via Dede Cato, Jordan Winter, Brayden Hopkins, Luc Knight, and Steven Beenackers, who contributed one each. Chatham was unable to stop the Stars from sending pucks towards the net, and St. Thomas eventually piled up 43 shots on goal. The Stars were helped by Adam Keyes, who grabbed two goals. Keyes scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:53 into the first period to make the score 2-1 St. Thomas. A cross checking penalty on Blair Derynck had put St. Thomas on the power play. Jesse Anderson assisted on the tally. Keyes' next tally on the power play made the score 4-3 St. Thomas with 14:27 left in the third period. Carson Esipu picked up the assist. St. Thomas additionally got points from Anderson, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Spencer Hutchinson also scored for St. Thomas. In addition, St. Thomas received assists from Carson Moniz, Matt McJannet, Brody Smith, and Carter McCormick, who each chipped in one. Colin Lauzon rejected 39 shots on goal for the Maroons. Chatham registered one goal on four power play opportunities. For the Maroons, Andrew Barbeau was ejected from the game. Dan Black made 39 saves for the Stars on 44 shots. St. Thomas incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
