Listowel rolls over Waterloo, 6-1

The Listowel Cyclones were firing on all cylinders against the Waterloo Siskins, and when the final buzzer sounded Cyclones emerged with a 6-1 win.

Listowel was led by Garrett James, who grabbed one goal and one assist. James scored 2:31 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Listowel. Holdyn Lansink picked up the assist.

The Cyclones forced Siskins' goaltenders to work without much rest, ripping 42 shots and forcing 36 saves. Mitchell Datz made 21 stops and Bailey DeGasperis made 15. Listowel excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances.

Listowel additionally got points from Jakob Lee, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Lansink, who also had one goal and one assist. Brady Anderson also scored for Listowel. In addition, Listowel received assists from Caleb Warren, who had two and Keaton Willis, Kade Landry, Tim Nauta, Chayse Herrfort, and Jamie Huber, who each chipped in one.

Tyler Fassl recorded 23 saves for the Cyclones. Listowel incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Waterloo incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors. The Siskins ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Thomas Haffner was ejected from the game.
