Fort Erie outlasts Ancaster, 4-3

The Fort Erie Meteors and the Ancaster Avalanche were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Fort Erie made the most of its opportunities and won, 4-3.

No lead was more than two goals during the contest, and the winning goal was scored by Danial Singer at 4:27 of the third period.

Singer had a great game for the Meteors, netting two goals.

Fort Erie put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ancaster to score on any of its three power plays.

Fort Erie additionally got points from Anthony Passero, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Nick Passafiume also scored for Fort Erie. Other players who recorded assists for Fort Erie were Holden Garlent, who had three and Bryce Martin, Daniel Volpatti, and Karl Lavoie, who each chipped in one.

The Avalanche's defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. Ancaster gives up 1.7 goal per game.

The Avalanche were helped by Owen Burnell, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Burnell scored 5:50 into the second period to make the score 3-3. Ryan Cox provided the assist. Ancaster also got points from Max Balinson, who also had one goal and one assist. Ancaster also got a goal from Ben Hughes as well. In addition, Ancaster received assists from Ryan Knill, who had one and Matt Mannella, who had two.

Riley Daniels recorded 24 saves for the Meteors. Fort Erie incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Matt Calas made 18 saves for Ancaster on 22 shots. The Avalanche incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
