Kitchener survives Guelph comeback, wins 4-3

The Guelph Hurricanes tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Kitchener Dutchmen held on for a 4-3 victory.

A goal by Connor Cole put Kitchener up 4-1 in the second period, but Guelph pulled to within one on Corson Searles's tally 12:13 into the third period.

The Dutchmen excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Kitchener's offense rang up 31 shots on the Hurricanes' net.

Kitchener also got a goal from Alex Demrovsky as well. In addition, Kitchener received assists from Matthew Cruickshank, who had one, Jeremy Kuehn, who had two, and Adam Kawalec, who had four.

Guelph was helped by Ryan Waterhouse, who had one goal. Waterhouse scored 11:32 into the third period to make the score 4-2 Kitchener. Stefano Pezzetta provided the assist. Guelph additionally got points from Searles, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Lucas Dybowski also scored for Guelph. Other players who recorded assists for Guelph were Sean Power, Ryan Migliaccio, Quinn Hanna, and Alex Ritchie, who contributed one each.

Cossimo Lazzarino recorded 24 saves for the Dutchmen. Kitchener incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Jason DaSilva made 27 saves for the Hurricanes on 31 shots. Guelph incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
