The LaSalle Vipers were firing on all cylinders against the London Nationals, and when the final buzzer sounded Vipers emerged with a 5-1 win. LaSalle was led by goalie Paolo Battisti, who finished with 29 saves while allowing one goal. Battisti certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.5 entering the contest. London's power play was ineffective against the Vipers' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. LaSalle forced the Nationals goalie Connor Hughes to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots. The Vipers struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as they finished the game with 32 penalty minutes for eight opposing power plays. LaSalle was helped by Blake Jones, who registered one goal. Jones scored 5:06 into the second period to make the score 2-0 LaSalle. James Brooks picked up the assist. LaSalle additionally got points from Michael Ruttinger, who also racked up one goal and one assist and Jarrett Tazzman, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. LaSalle also had goals scored by Manny Silverio and Connor Rosaasen, who scored one goal each. More assists for LaSalle came via Connor Matton, Liam McDougall, Maddux Rychel, and Kyle Auger, who contributed one each. London excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in six chances. The Nationals were led by Max Vinogradov, who scored the team's only goal. Vinogradov scored on the power play 19:17 into the third period to make the score 5-1 LaSalle. A spearing penalty on Brendan McGhee had put London on the power play. Brandon Glover assisted on the tally. Connor Hughes made 34 saves for the Nationals on 39 shots. London incurred 36 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
