Team North Dakota 18U uses shootout to best MNEPDL 18U, 7-6

Three periods of regulation and an overtime session were not enough to settle matters as Team North Dakota 18U defeated MNEPDL 18U in a shootout 7-6.

The shootout lasted for 10 attempts between the teams. MNEPDL 18U's shootout goal was scored by Justin Kelly. Team North Dakota 18U's other shootout goal was scored by Ethan Czaplewski.

Team North Dakota 18U overcame a two-goal deficit to capture the victory. Team North Dakota 18U was down 5-3 after a goal by MNEPDL 18U's Hunter Johannes at 4:11 in the third period. Team North Dakota 18U tied things up at 6-6 on a goal by Collin Caulfield at 16:52 in the third period.

Team North Dakota 18U kept MNEPDL 18U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Parker Swanson made 30 saves on 37 shots. Team North Dakota 18U surpassed its usual scoring output this season. Team North Dakota 18U has scored at the pace of 4.0 goals per game during the current campaign. Camden Haugenoe rejected 23 shots on goal for Team North Dakota 18U. Team North Dakota 18U incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. MNEPDL 18U incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
