MNEPDL 18U survives penalties, beats NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U, 5-2

Despite having to fight off several power plays, MNEPDL 18U was able to defeat NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U, 5-2.

MNEPDL 18U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U to score on any of its six power plays. MNEPDL 18U forced NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U goalie Jake Jankowski to work between the pipes, taking 34 shots.

MNEPDL 18U was led by Matt Jennrich, who racked up one goal and one assist. Jennrich scored 11:10 into the third period to make the score 4-2 MNEPDL 18U. Weston Lombard provided the assist. MNEPDL 18U also got points from Nick Sims, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Others who scored for MNEPDL 18U included Mitchel Bentfield, Tyler DeFore, and Jack Bowman, who each put in one. More assists for MNEPDL 18U came via Carter Winkler, who had two and Logan Lindstrand, Justin Kelly, and Hunter Johannes, who each chipped in one.

NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U was helped by Spencer Challe, who registered one goal. Challe scored 2:53 into the second period to make the score 3-1 MNEPDL 18U. Maxwell Hackinson picked up the assist. NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U also got a goal from Joseph Cavil as well.

Parker Swanson rejected 27 shots on goal for MNEPDL 18U. MNEPDL 18U incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. Jake Jankowski made 29 saves for NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U on 33 shots. NE Wisconsin Hornets 18U incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
