MNEPDL North 16U blows out Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U, 6-1

MNEPDL North 16U had a five-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-1 win over Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U.

MNEPDL North 16U was sparked by Wyatt Thole, who racked up one goal. Thole scored 14:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 MNEPDL North 16U. Kyler Yeo assisted on the tally.

MNEPDL North 16U put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U to score on any of its four power plays. MNEPDL North 16U kept Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U's goalie busy throughout the game, and Takeshi Alvarez made 50 saves on 56 shots.

MNEPDL North 16U additionally got points from Joey Petronack, who also had one goal and one assist and Cade Stensby, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for MNEPDL North 16U included Max Johnson, Mitch Machlitt, and Jarod Blackowiak, who each put in one. In addition, MNEPDL North 16U received assists from Hunter Olson, Garrett Sandberg, Jack Hennemann, and Derek Berning, who contributed one each.

Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Texas Jr. Brahmas 16U finished with 26 penalty minutes.

Alex Brigino made 11 saves before being replaced by Reid Waszczenko, who took the win and made four saves. MNEPDL North 16U incurred 26 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
