Rittner Buam made the score 2-0 on a goal by Luca Ansoldi at 9:50 in the first period, and HC Val Pusteria Lupi got as close as 2-1 when Giulio Scandella scored 19:38 into the third period. HC Val Pusteria Lupi was stymied by Rittner Buam's netminder Fabian Weinhandl, who stopped 34 shots during the victory. Weinhandl certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 1.79 entering the contest. Rittner Buam stifled HC Val Pusteria Lupi's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Rittner Buam also got a goal from Patrick Rissmiller as well. In addition, Rittner Buam received assists from Eric Johansson, who had one. Other players who recorded assists for HC Val Pusteria Lupi were Armand Berzins and Tuukka Makela, who each chipped in one. Rittner Buam incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. HC Val Pusteria Lupi's Gerald Vale Kuhn stopped 34 shots out of the 36 that he faced. HC Val Pusteria Lupi incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
