Lake Tahoe hangs on, beats Team QMJHL 2-1

Scott Harrington scored the go-ahead goal in the first period, and the Lake Tahoe Blue held off the challenges of Team QMJHL in a tough 2-1 win.

Lake Tahoe took over the lead for good with a goal by Harrington at zero seconds in the first period. Daniel Catenacci picked up the assist.

Team QMJHL's Maxime Lagace could not handle what the Blue threw at him, as Lake Tahoe netted its goals off of three.

The Blue were paced by Harrington, who tallied one goal and one assist.

Lake Tahoe's offense revolved around and Harrington, who put and two shots on net. The Blue relied heavily on their defensemen to assist their forwards, and the blueliners responded by scoring two goals on three shots.

Jamie Oleksiak also scored for Lake Tahoe. More assists for Lake Tahoe came via Tanner Pearson, who had one.

Team QMJHL barely challenged the opposing goalie, finishing with only two shots on target to force one save. Team.mascot's final shot tally was well below the team's average of 10.8 pucks on net per game. Team QMJHL did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Team QMJHL's defensemen bolstered Team QMJHL's offensive attack, as they bombarded Scott Wedgewood with two shots.

Team QMJHL was led by Jerome Gauthier-Leduc, who scored the team's only goal. Gauthier-Leduc scored zero seconds into the first period to make the score 2-1 Lake Tahoe. Carl Gelinas assisted on the tally.

Scott Wedgewood made one save for Lake Tahoe on two shots. The Blue avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored one goal off of one power plays. Lagace rejected one shot on goal for Team QMJHL. Team QMJHL registered zero goals on zero power play opportunities.
