Uxbridge completes comeback, beats Little Britain, 5-4

The Uxbridge Bruins climbed out of a two-goal hole to beat the Little Britain Merchants, 5-4.

Uxbridge let multiple leads slip away before eventually digging out of a two hole to pick up the win. The Bruins took a 4-3 advantage on a goal by Tyson Eastgate at 5:28 in the third period. Uxbridge found itself down 3-1 after Little Britain's Brad Ward put the puck home short handed at 5:00 in the second period. After knotting things up at 4-4 on a goal by Terry Snoddon at 15:18 in the third, the Bruins got the game-winner from Daryl Thomson at 17:43 in the third period.

Thomson was all over the ice for Uxbridge, as he registered two goals in the win.

The Bruins excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in five chances. Uxbridge's offense rang up 46 shots on the Merchants' net.

Others who scored for Uxbridge included Korey Brand and Todd Winder, who each put in one. In addition, Uxbridge received assists from Shane Smith, who had two and Michael Spataro and Marco Mastrangelo, who each chipped in one.

Little Britain's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Merchants finished with 26 penalty minutes.

Little Britain was helped by Jesse Beers, who finished with one goal. Beers scored 2:34 into the second period to make the score 2-0 Little Britain. Brett Doble provided the assist. Little Britain also got points from Snoddon, who also had one goal and one assist. Hayden Long also scored for Little Britain. Other players who recorded assists for Little Britain were Matt VanKessel and Garrett Haden, who contributed one each.

The Bruins' Brandon Francey stopped 13 shots out of the 17 that he faced. Uxbridge incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Haden rejected 41 shots on goal for the Merchants.
