Ottawa survives Smiths Falls comeback, wins 6-4

The Smiths Falls Bears tried their best to erase a four-goal deficit, but the Ottawa Senators would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 6-4.
Ottawa took a 6-2 lead during the second period, only to have Smiths Falls storm back on a Victor Beaulac goal 19:09 into the third period to pull to two goals down.
The Senators evened the best of seven series at 3-3 and forced a deciding game seven.
Matthew Dupont had two goals to lead Ottawa to victory. Dupont found the back of the net on the power play 2:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Ottawa and again while on the power play 12:52 into the first to make the score 3-1 Ottawa.
Ottawa also got points from Shawn Lynch, who also had one goal and one assist and Joey Champigny, who also registered two goals and one assist. Luc Deschamps also scored for Ottawa. More assists for Ottawa came via Deric Boudreau, who had three, Ryan Collins, Yannick Crete, and Thomas Crevier, who each chipped in one, and Eric Clitsome and Hunter Racine, who contributed two each.
Smiths Falls' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.
The Bears were helped by Zachary Senyshyn, who racked up one goal. Senyshyn scored on the power play 11:12 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa. Smiths Falls earned a power play opportunity when Michael Evelyn was put in the box for hooking. Stefano Momesso provided the assist. Smiths Falls additionally got points from Chris MacMillan, who also tallied one goal and two assists. Smiths Falls also got a goal from Michael Buonincontri as well. Other players who recorded assists for Smiths Falls were Derian Plouffe and Brandon Lesway, who each chipped in one.
