Alexandre Savard-Belanger stood on his head and made 29 saves to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 2-1 victory over the Smiths Falls Bears. The win by Ottawa broke a deadlock and gave the Senators a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. Ottawa was led by Joey Champigny, who registered one goal. Champigny scored 13 seconds into the third period to make the score 2-1 Ottawa. Shawn Lynch picked up the assist. The Senators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Ottawa also got a goal from Eric Clitsome as well. In addition, Ottawa received assists from Matthew Dupont and Hunter Racine, who each chipped in one. Smiths Falls put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Ottawa to score on any of its four power plays. The Bears were led by Karson McCartney, who scored the team's only goal. McCartney scored 2:51 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Stefano Momesso assisted on the tally. The Senators incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Smiths Falls' Michael Pinios stopped 25 shots out of the 27 that he faced. The Bears incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
