Mark Petaccio had two goals to lead the Pembroke Lumber Kings to a 2-1 victory over the Brockville Braves. Petaccio's tallies came at 8:41 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke and 18:29 into the third to make the score 2-1 Pembroke.The win by Pembroke broke a deadlock and gave the Lumber Kings a 2-1 advantage in the best of seven series. Brockville was stymied by Pembroke's netminder Darren Smith, who stopped 40 shots during the victory. Smith certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.69 entering the contest. The Lumber Kings pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 18 penalty minutes. Pembroke stifled the Braves' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Lumber Kings' offense rang up 42 shots on Brockville's net. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Felix Chamberland and Jordan Larson, who contributed two each. The Braves' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Pembroke power plays. Brockville forced Pembroke goalie Smith to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots. The Braves were led by Ryan Cusin, who scored the team's only goal. Cusin scored 4:10 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Nathan Todd assisted on the tally. Brockville's Andrew Pikul stopped 40 shots out of the 42 that he faced. The Braves incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
