The Brockville Braves had trouble finding ways to stop the Pembroke Lumber Kings, which beat Braves, 6-2. The win gave Pembroke a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Lumber Kings were paced by Felix Chamberland, who registered one goal and one assist. Chamberland scored 7:10 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Pembroke. Jordan Larson provided the assist. Pembroke stifled Brockville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Pembroke also got a goal from Dylan Staples as well. More assists for Pembroke came via Sam Gleason, who had two and Colton Keuhl, Dylan Chase, Trent Durocher, Lucas Gonu, Patrice Wren, Kyle Shaw, Stephan Beauvais, and Steven Johnston, who each chipped in one. The Braves put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Lumber Kings to score on any of their six power plays. Brockville forced Pembroke goalie Darren Smith to work between the pipes, taking 33 shots. Smith recorded 31 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Braves' Andrew Pikul stopped 24 shots out of the 30 that he faced. Brockville incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
