The Cornwall Colts had trouble finding ways to stop the Ottawa Senators, which beat Colts, 8-2. After the loss made the series score 3-1 in the best of seven series, Cornwall faces elimination next time out. Ottawa got the win behind a great game by Ryan Collins, who had two goals and two assists. Collins scored the first of his two goals at 9:17 into the first period to make the score 3-0 Ottawa. Zac Tierney assisted on the tally. Collins' next tally made the score 8-2 Ottawa with 2:23 left in the third period. The Senators earned a power play opportunity when Matthew Cruickshank was put in the box for roughing. Deric Boudreau picked up the assist. Ottawa forced the Colts' goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, racking up 35 shots and forcing 27 saves. James Edwardson made one stops and Anthony Kuhnreich made 26. The defensemen of the Senators were also effective in Cornwall's zone, and came away with two goals. Ottawa also got points from Chad Millett, who also registered one goal and one assist and Matthew Dupont, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Ottawa included Shawn Lynch, Joe Shecter, Mike Martin, and Michael Evelyn, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Robert Michel, Eric Clitsome, Joey Champigny, Thomas Crevier, and Hunter Racine, who each chipped in one. The Colts were led by Cal Hofford, who finished with one goal. Hofford scored on the power play 8:14 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Ottawa. Cornwall had gained a power play chance when Shecter was whistled for cross checking. Pierre Ouellette assisted on the tally. Cornwall also got a goal from Jay DAmour as well. More assists for Cornwall came via Marly Quince and Kenny Nelson, who contributed one each. Ottawa's Alexandre Savard-Belanger stopped 24 shots out of the 26 that he faced. The Senators incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with 10 minors. The Colts incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with 12 minors.
