The Smiths Falls Bears survived a determined comeback attempt by the Nepean Raiders on the way to a 3-1 win. Smiths Falls took a 3-0 lead during the second period, only to have Nepean storm back on a Mitchell Herlihey goal 14:50 into the third period to pull to two goals down. The win gave the Bears a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series. The Raiders were stymied by Smiths Falls' netminder Cory Simic, who stopped 37 shots during the victory. Simic managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 1.5 prior to the game. The Bears excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Nepean was unable to stop Smiths Falls from sending pucks towards the net, and the Bears eventually piled up 48 shots on goal. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. Smiths Falls was led by Victor Beaulac, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Beaulac scored 11:12 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Smiths Falls. Simic assisted on the tally. Smiths Falls also had goals scored by Chris MacMillan and Brandon Lesway, who scored one goal each. More assists for Smiths Falls came via Ben Beasley, Daniel Lombardi, and Stefano Momesso, who each chipped in one. The Raiders' offense rang up 38 shots on the Bears' net. Other players who recorded assists for Nepean were Keenan Hodgson and Brandon Watt, who contributed one each. Smiths Falls incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Ryan Mulder made 45 saves for Nepean on 48 shots. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
