Erat's big game bests Hockey Milano Rossoblu in 4-1 SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan win

The SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan Broncos were firing on all cylinders against Hockey Milano Rossoblu, and when the final buzzer sounded Broncos emerged with a 4-1 win.

Roman Erat was all over the ice for SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan, as he tallied two goals and one assist in the win. Erat scored the first of his two goals at 1:08 into the first period to make the score 1-0 SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan. Daniel Maffia picked up the assist. Erat's next tally made the score 3-1 SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan with 6:25 left in the second period. Christopher Knowlton assisted on the tally.

The Broncos' Joni Myllykoski was a brick wall in net, as he came up with 66 saves and let only one puck past him. Despite the solid performance, Myllykoski will actually see his goals against average rise, as it stood at 1.0 entering the contest.

SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Hockey Milano Rossoblu to score on any of its seven power plays.

SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan also had goals scored by Derek Eastman and Derek Lee, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan were Louis Liotti, who had two and Hannes Stofner, Trevor Jon Caig, and Florian Wieser, who each chipped in one.

Hockey Milano Rossoblu could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 16 minutes in penalties during the game.

Hockey Milano Rossoblu was led by Devin DiDiomete, who scored the team's only goal. DiDiomete scored 5:31 into the first period to make the score 2-1 SSI Vipiteno Weihenstephan. Bradley J. Schell provided the assist.

The Broncos incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Paul Dainton recorded 17 saves for Hockey Milano Rossoblu.
