Blenheim survives Belle River comeback, wins 4-3

The Belle River Canadiens almost clawed their way back from a three-goal deficit, but the Blenheim Blades managed to pull out a 4-3 win in the end.

Blenheim led by three goals at one point and ended with the victory. The largest advantage in the game came when the Blades' Tyler Boughner's scored at 8:08 in the third period to put Blenheim up 5-2.

The win gave the Blades a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Drew Marlatt was all over the ice for Blenheim, as he racked up two goals in the win. Marlatt's tallies came at 13:55 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Blenheim and 11:35 into the second to make the score 4-2 Blenheim.

The Blades kept Belle River's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Topliffe made 32 saves on 36 shots. Blenheim did not rack up many penalties in the contest, finishing with just one minor for two minutes in penalty time.

Blenheim also got points from Dylan Muzzatti, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Boughner, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, and Derek Muzzatti, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Blenheim came via Cam Aitken, who had one and Zack Horvath, who had two.

The Blades were unable to stop the Canadiens from sending pucks towards the net, and Belle River eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

The Canadiens were helped by Brian Johnson, who tallied one goal. Johnson scored 4:41 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Blenheim. Nick Tavoleiri picked up the assist. Belle River additionally got points from Sebastian Kanally, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Mike Ditty also scored for Belle River. In addition, Belle River received assists from Branden Larocque, who had one.

Blenheim's Adam Leboeuf stopped 35 shots out of the 38 that he faced. The Blades registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. Belle River incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
