Blenheim downs Belle River in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Blenheim Blades pulled out a 3-2 (OT) overtime victory over the Belle River Canadiens on a clutch goal by Zack Horvath.

The win gave Blenheim a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Horvath had a great game for the Blades, netting two goals. Horvath's tallies came at 7:54 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Blenheim and 2:18 into the fourth to make the score 3-2 Blenheim.

Blenheim's offense rang up 33 shots on Belle River's net.

Dylan Muzzatti also scored for Blenheim. Other players who recorded assists for Blenheim were Tyler Boughner, Derek Muzzatti, Jarrod Oliphant, and Justin Rossignol, who each chipped in one.

The Canadiens kept the Blades' goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Leboeuf made 39 saves on 41 shots.

Belle River was helped by Sebastian Kanally, who registered one goal. Kanally scored on the power play 15:39 into the second period to make the score 1-1. The Canadiens had taken the advantage when Blenheim's Kirk McKillop got sent off for slashing. Brenden Crundwell provided the assist. Belle River also got a goal from Brad Carroll as well. More assists for Belle River came via Branden Larocque, Mike Ditty, and Hunter Corp, who contributed one a piece.

The Blades incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Mitch Topliffe rejected 30 shots on goal for Belle River. The Canadiens incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
