Amherstburg falls to Belle River in overtime, 3-2 (OT)

The Belle River Canadiens' Mike Ditty scored 3:58 into overtime to beat the Amherstburg Admirals, 3-2 (OT).

The win gave Belle River a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Ditty was all over the ice for the Canadiens, as he registered two goals in the win.

Belle River stifled Amherstburg's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Canadiens' offense rang up 43 shots on the Admirals' net.

Belle River additionally got points from Branden Larocque, who also had one goal and one assist. More assists for Belle River came via Kody Gagnon, who had two and Sebastian Kanally and Michael Long, who each chipped in one.

Amherstburg kept Belle River's goalie busy throughout the game, and Mitch Topliffe made 37 saves on 39 shots.

The Admirals were helped by Colin Hamilton, who finished with one goal. Hamilton scored 8:57 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Ryan Alexander picked up the assist. Mark Sobocan also scored for Amherstburg. Other players who recorded assists for Amherstburg were Kyle Morand, Steven Spada, and Luke Gagnon, who contributed one a piece.

The Canadiens incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Arren Romeril recorded 40 saves for Amherstburg. The Admirals incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
