Bronzi's big game bests Blenheim in 6-3 Mooretown winMooretown Rink 1 Wed, Feb 12, 2014 Story by Narrative Science.
The Mooretown Flags' Spencer Bronzi had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 6-3 win over the Blenheim Blades. Bronzi found the back of the net 2:49 into the second period to make the score 3-3 and again while 19:02 into the third to make the score 5-3 Mooretown.After the loss made the series score 1-3 in the best of seven series, Blenheim faces elimination next time out. Mooretown's offense rang up 35 shots on the Blades' net. Others who scored for Mooretown included Ryan Lyle, Caden Fleming, Austin Ainsworth, and Brett Thompson, who each put in one. More assists for Mooretown came via Sam Jasmin, who had two and Sam McCormack and David Addley, who contributed one a piece. Blenheim kept the Flags' goalie busy throughout the game, and Brandon Johnson made 42 saves on 45 shots. The Blades were led by Justin Rossignol, who finished with two goals. Rossignol scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 19:28 into the first period to make the score 2-2. Blenheim had taken the advantage when Mooretown's Jordan McBeath got sent off for checking from behind. Rossignol's next tally on the power play made the score 3-2 Blenheim with 18:32 left in the second period. Conner Annett picked up the assist. Blenheim also got a goal from Drew Marlatt as well. The Flags totaled 17 minutes in penalty time with one minor and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Mooretown ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and McBeath was ejected from the game. Eric Stewardson made 29 saves for the Blades on 33 shots. Blenheim incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
