Cale Phibbs had two goals to lead the Wheatley Sharks to a 5-2 victory over the Alvinston Flyers. Phibbs scored at 7:57 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Wheatley and again while 18:57 into the first to make the score 2-0 Wheatley.With the win, Wheatley evened the series at 1-1 in the best of seven showdown. The Sharks forced Alvinston goalie Brett Avery to work between the pipes, taking 31 shots. Wheatley did not rack up many penalties in the contest, racking up only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Wheatley additionally got points from Brett Babkirk, who also registered one goal and one assist. Wheatley also got a goal from Brendon Anger as well. More assists for Wheatley came via Jon Woelk, who had three and Jimmy Ciacelli, Shawn Hope, Austin Thompson, Eric Rivard, and Scott Florence, who each chipped in one. The Sharks were unable to stop the Flyers from sending pucks towards the net, and Alvinston eventually piled up 33 shots on goal. The Flyers did not rack up many penalties in the contest, registering only one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Alvinston was helped by Dylan Lightfoot, who grabbed one goal. Lightfoot scored 9:47 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Wheatley. Tyler Kettler assisted on the tally. Joe Archer also scored for Alvinston. In addition, Alvinston received assists from Clint Rose, Jake McPhail, and Chad Vaneyk, who contributed one a piece. Conner MacKinnon made 31 saves for Wheatley on 33 shots. The Sharks registered one goal on one power play opportunities. Avery recorded 26 saves for the Flyers. Alvinston registered zero goals on one power play opportunities.
