Borgan lifts Great Plains over Team North, 7-2

Great Plains relied on the scoring touch of Will Borgan, who netted two goals, to beat the Team North Muscle Milk, 7-2.

Borgan found the back of the net 8:16 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Great Plains and again while 8:38 into the first to make the score 3-0 Great Plains.

Great Plains' offense rang up 39 shots on Team North's net. Great Plains found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Great Plains has scored at the pace of 3.8 goals per game during the current campaign. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Great Plains additionally got points from Isak Bergland, who also registered one goal and one assist. Great Plains also had goals scored by Tommy Hall, who had two and Alec Groth and Tanner Skaja, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Great Plains were Kyle Sylvester, who had two and Nick Jaycox, Brady Heppner, Jared Spooner, Paul Kenney, and Kobe Roth, who contributed one a piece.

The Muscle Milk forced Great Plains goalie Jacob Dittmer to work between the pipes, taking 41 shots.

Team North was led by Sam Valerius, who had one goal. Valerius scored 14:02 into the first period to make the score 3-1 Great Plains. Jonah Bischoff provided the assist. Team North also got a goal from Koby Bender as well. In addition, Team North received assists from Logan Rivard and Nicholas Thompson, who each chipped in one.

Great Plains' Dittmer stopped 39 shots out of the 41 that he faced. Great Plains incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Gabe Heifort recorded 32 saves for the Muscle Milk. Team North totaled 23 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major and went 0-for-2 on the power play.
