Swaney's big game bests Team Northwest in 7-4 Team Southeast win

The Team Southeast TCF's Nick Swaney had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing one assist in his team's 7-4 win over the Team Northwest Velocity Traning Centers.

Swaney scored on the power play at 12:36 into the first period to make the score 4-2 Team Southeast and again while 7:11 into the third to make the score 6-4 Team Southeast.

Team Southeast's penalty kill excelled, as the TCF gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays.

Team Southeast stifled Team Northwest's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The TCF's offense rang up 33 shots on the Velocity Traning Centers' net.

Team Southeast also got points from Lucas Gillett, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Michael Graham, who also had one goal and one assist, and Tyler Sheehy, who also registered one goal and one assist. Nick Wolff also scored for Team Southeast. In addition, Team Southeast received assists from Nick Reis and Keith Muehlbauer, who each chipped in one and Luc Snuggerud, Steven Spinner, and Tommy Novak, who contributed two a piece.

Team Southeast was unable to stop Team Northwest from sending pucks towards the net, and the Velocity Traning Centers eventually piled up 36 shots on goal.

Team Northwest was helped by Chase Springman, who finished with one goal. Springman scored 1:11 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Jacob Jaremko picked up the assist. Team Northwest additionally got points from Max Zimmer, who also grabbed one goal and one assist. Team Northwest also got a goal from Spencer Naas as well. Other players who recorded assists for Team Northwest were Nate Erickson, who had two and Mark Lyman, Calvin Spencer, and Jack Sorenson, who each chipped in one.

The TCF's Andrew Lindgren stopped 32 shots out of the 36 that he faced. Team Southeast incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Jens Vaughan Ahrens rejected 26 shots on goal for the Velocity Traning Centers. Team Northwest incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Velocity Traning Centers, Jason Krych was ejected from the game.
