Team Northwest downs Team Southwest, 6-3

Johnny Austin racked up two points to lead the Team Northwest Velocity Traning Centers to a 6-3 victory over Team Southwest.

Team Northwest was paced by Austin, who registered one goal and one assist. Austin scored 17:55 into the second period to make the score 4-3 Team Northwest. Adam Anderson picked up the assist.

The Velocity Traning Centers put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Team Southwest to score on any of its three power plays. Team Southwest was unable to stop Team Northwest from sending pucks towards the net, and the Velocity Traning Centers eventually piled up 63 shots on goal.

Team Northwest also got points from Spencer Naas, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Team Northwest also had goals scored by Max Zimmer, who had two and Matthew Freytag and Justin Oja, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Team Northwest were Tyler Vold, Tyler Tomberlin, Nate Erickson, and Chase Springman, who contributed one a piece.

Team Southwest was led by Will Garin, who tallied two goals. Garin scored the first of his two goals at 3:13 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Johnny Panvica provided the assist. Garin's next tally made the score 2-1 Team Southwest with 16:26 left in the first period. Panvica assisted on the tally. Will Reedy also scored for Team Southwest. In addition, Team Southwest received assists from Grant Prinsen, Austin Kilian, and Tyler Nanne, who each chipped in one.

Sam Goestsch made 25 saves for Team Northwest on 28 shots. The Velocity Traning Centers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Maclean Berglove rejected 57 shots on goal for Team Southwest. Team Southwest incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
