Dakota Brooks had two goals and two assists to lead the Alliston Hornets to a 6-3 victory over the Schomberg Cougars. Brooks found the back of the net 5:41 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Alliston and again while 11:17 into the third to make the score 6-3 Alliston.Schomberg's power play was ineffective against Alliston's penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded. The Hornets forced the Cougars' goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 33 shots and forcing 27 saves. Taylor Ewart made 14 stops and Garett Taylor made 13. Alliston bested its season scoring average. The Hornets average 3.9 goals per game. Alliston was ineffective while on the power play, as it was held to one goal off of 11 man advantages. The Hornets' defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals. Alliston also got points from Mark ODonnell, who also had one goal and one assist and Bobby Sloan, who also registered one goal and one assist. Alliston also had goals scored by William Bradon and Jacob Tuck, who each put in one. In addition, Alliston received assists from Jamie Bennett, who had two and David Leblanc, Wyatt Young, Ben Skuce, and Nic Archibald, who each chipped in one. Schomberg was helped by Ryley Egerton, who tallied one goal. Egerton scored 19:25 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Alliston. JP Crescenzi provided the assist. Others who scored for Schomberg included Christian Muenz and John Gage, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Schomberg were Colton Wood, Blake Culley, Kevin Sarrazin, and Brandon Yorke, who contributed one a piece. Tyler Brindle rejected 14 shots on goal for Alliston. The Hornets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. The Cougars ended with 23 minutes in penalty time with nine minors and one major. For Schomberg, Justin Formenton was ejected from the game.
