The Schomberg Cougars tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Penetang Kings held on for a 7-6 victory. A goal by Mac Flewelling put Penetang up 7-4 in the third period, but Schomberg pulled to within one on Blake Culley's tally 19:31 into the third period. In the losing effort, the Cougars were led by Culley, who grabbed two goals. Culley scored the first of his two goals on the power play at 18:52 into the third period to make the score 7-5 Penetang. Schomberg had gotten the advantage when the Kings' Jack Scanlan was sent off for cross checking. Justin Formenton assisted on the tally. Culley's next tally on the power play made the score 7-6 Penetang with 29 seconds left in the third period. Penetang forced the Cougars goalie Taylor Ewart to work between the pipes, taking 36 shots. The Kings' penalty kill was ineffective, and let in three goals to Schomberg's power play unit. Penetang struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 38 penalty minutes for five opposing power plays. The Kings were led by Ryan Young, who tallied one goal and one assist. Young scored 7:40 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Penetang. Matt Meher picked up the assist. Penetang additionally got points from Scanlan, who also registered one goal and one assist and Sammy Gagnon, who also racked up one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Penetang included Nate Archer, Kyle Burns, and Ryan Shaw, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Penetang were Austin Fischer, who had one and Matt Fischer and Craig Robinson, who each chipped in two. The Cougars kept Penetang's goalie busy throughout the game, and Adam Redgate made 28 saves on 34 shots. Schomberg struggled to stay out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 58 penalty minutes for 14 opposing power plays. Schomberg also got points from Christian Muenz, who also had one goal and one assist. Schomberg also had goals scored by Spenser Jones, Colton Wood, and Declan Lampe, who scored one goal each. More assists for Schomberg came via JP Crescenzi, who had two and Mitch Safaric, John Gage, Kevin Sarrazin, Bobby Quinn, and Brandon Yorke, who contributed one a piece. The Cougars' Ewart stopped 29 shots out of the 36 that he faced. For Schomberg, Quinn was ejected from the game.
