Caledon rips Alliston, 3-0

The Caledon Golden Hawks had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 3-0 win over the Alliston Hornets.

Alliston's power play was ineffective against Caledon's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Golden Hawks were sparked by Daniel Cafagna, who had one goal and one assist. Cafagna scored 21 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Caledon. Steven Klomp picked up the assist.

Caledon put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow the Hornets to score on any of their eight power plays.

Caledon additionally got points from Klomp, who also registered one goal and one assist. Steve Zeppieri also scored for Caledon. More assists for Caledon came via Kyle Lee, who had two and Zack Worth and James Pitsadiotas, who each chipped in one.

Alliston stifled the Golden Hawks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Hornets were held below their usual level of production. Alliston averages 3.5 goals per game.

Caledon's Chris Vellucci stopped 19 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Golden Hawks incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with nine minors. Tyler Brindle rejected 18 shots on goal for the Hornets. Alliston incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
