The Huntsville Otters tried their best to erase a three-goal deficit, but the Schomberg Cougars would not be denied the victory and hung on to win, 4-2. A goal by Kiefer McIntosh put Schomberg up 4-1 in the second period, but Huntsville pulled to within two on Jake McIntyre's tally 7:05 into the third period. The Cougars forced Otters' netminders to work between the pipes, finishing with 55 shots and forcing 51 saves. Connor Christianson made 22 stops and TJ Sherwood made 29. Schomberg had trouble converting on the power play advantage, managing just two goals on nine chances. The Cougars were led by John Gage, who registered one goal and two assists. Gage scored on the power play 7:57 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Schomberg. Schomberg had gotten the advantage when the Otters' Ryan Perry was sent off for roughing. Nicholas Chaykowsky provided the assist. Schomberg also got points from Chaykowsky, who also tallied one goal and one assist. JP Crescenzi also scored for Schomberg. More assists for Schomberg came via Blake Culley, Kevin Sarrazin, and Declan Lampe, who each chipped in one. Huntsville could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 30 minutes in penalties during the game. Other players who recorded assists for Huntsville were Brock Heshka and Bryan Austin, who contributed two a piece. Garett Taylor recorded 16 saves for the Cougars. Schomberg incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. For the Cougars, Joel Wright AP was ejected from the game. The Otters registered two goals on five power play opportunities.
