Penetang blows out Huntsville, 7-3

The Penetang Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Huntsville Otters, and when the final buzzer sounded Kings emerged with a 7-3 win.

Penetang got the win on the strength of a great game by Mac Flewelling, who had one goal and three assists. Flewelling scored 13:41 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Penetang. Ryan Young assisted on the tally.

Huntsville's power play was ineffective against the Kings' penalty kill, which allowed one goal while shorthanded.

Penetang's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as the Kings finished with 46 penalty minutes.

Penetang additionally got points from Matt Meher, who also grabbed one goal and one assist, Myles York, who also had one goal and two assists, and Young, who also registered one goal and four assists to lead the team in points. Brayden Laurin also scored for Penetang. More assists for Penetang came via Dan Hogan, Sammy Gagnon, and Craig Robinson, who each chipped in one.

The Otters could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 44 minutes in penalties during the game.

Huntsville was helped by Matt Janke, who racked up one goal. Janke scored 1:59 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Penetang. Corey Secord APM provided the assist. Huntsville also got points from Jay Dix, who also tallied one goal and one assist and Shawn Antonidis, who also had one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Bryan Austin, who had one.

Penetang's Andrew Best stopped 16 shots out of the 19 that he faced. The Kings registered one goal on four power play opportunities. Connor Christianson took the loss and made 20 saves before being replaced by TJ Sherwood who made zero saves.
