Erin holds on for 4-3 win against HuntsvilleErin Community Center Sat, Dec 21, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Huntsville Otters tried to dig themselves out of a two-goal hole, but the Erin Shamrocks held on for a 4-3 victory. A goal by Connor Mortimer put Erin up 4-2 in the third period, but Huntsville pulled to within one on Jay Dix's tally 3:24 into the third period. The Shamrocks got the win behind a great game by Josh Tremblay, who had two goals and one assist. Tremblay scored the first of his two goals at 13 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Erin. Patrick Reay provided the assist. Tremblay's next tally made the score 2-0 Erin with four seconds left in the first period. Tyler Nieuwendyk assisted on the tally. The defensemen of Erin were also effective in the Otters' zone, and came away with two goals. Erin also got points from Wes Montgomery, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Erin were Darcy Hackett, who had one. Huntsville stifled the Shamrocks' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Otters were led by Jake McIntyre, who had one goal and one assist. McIntyre scored on the power play 8:19 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Erin. Huntsville had gained a power play chance when Mortimer was whistled for cross checking. Marco Luciani provided the assist. Trayvon Henry also scored for Huntsville. In addition, Huntsville received assists from Myles Bissonette, Brock Heshka, and Noah Stevens, who contributed one a piece. Erin incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Otters incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
