Fischer's goals lift Penetang to 8-2 victory over Midland

The Penetang Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Midland Flyers, and when the final buzzer sounded Kings emerged with an 8-2 win.

Matt Fischer had a great game for Penetang, netting four goals. Fischer got on the scoresheet 18:16 into the first period. He then added goals at 3:31 into the third, at 6:55 into the third, and at 11:01 into the third.

The Kings forced Midland's goalies to work without much rest, taking 37 shots and forcing 29 saves. Connor Akins made 29 stops and Marco Colangelo made zero. Penetang surpassed its usual scoring output this season. This season, the Kings average 5.5 goals per contest. Penetang could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 46 minutes in penalties during the game.

Penetang additionally got points from Jack Scanlan, who also registered one goal and three assists, Jordan Schwartz, who also tallied one goal and two assists, and Mac Flewelling, who also had one goal and two assists. Penetang also got a goal from Sammy Gagnon as well. More assists for Penetang came via Craig Robinson, who had one, Ryan Shaw, who had three, and Brayden Laurin and Ryan Young, who each chipped in two.

The Flyers could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 48 minutes in penalties during the game.

Andrew Best rejected 25 shots on goal for the Kings. Penetang registered three goals on nine power play opportunities. Midland registered one goal on four power play opportunities. The Flyers ran into serious disciplinary problems during the contest, and Callan Heins AP was ejected from the game.
