Erin outlasts Stayner, 4-2

In a game where neither team could get a cushion, the Erin Shamrocks escaped with a 4-2 victory over the Stayner Siskins.

Erin gained the winning advantage on a goal by Mike Nicolucci 12:25 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

The Shamrocks got the win thanks to a great game by Nicolucci, who had one goal and two assists.

Erin also got points from Cosimo Morin, who also had one goal and one assist and Tyler Topham, who also registered one goal and one assist. Erin also got a goal from Josh Tremblay as well. In addition, Erin received assists from Josh Sguigna and Liam Adamson, who contributed one a piece.

Stayner's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on three Erin power plays. The Siskins could not produce up to they normal offensive output. Stayner averages 4.4 goals per game. The Siskins forced Erin goalie Tom Denstedt to work between the pipes, taking 38 shots.

Stayner was helped by Dakota Hynes, who racked up one goal. Hynes scored on the power play 19:23 into the first period to make the score 1-1. The Siskins had taken the advantage when the Shamrocks' Sam Hisey got sent off for tripping. Quinton Bruce picked up the assist. Sean Healy also scored for Stayner. Other players who recorded assists for Stayner were Zachery Hannon, who had one.

Denstedt rejected 36 shots on goal for Erin. The Shamrocks incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Aaron Taylor recorded 21 saves for Stayner. The Siskins incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with three minors.
