The Schomberg Cougars could not stop the Stayner Siskins' Cooper Martin, who tallied a hat trick in a 5-2 win. Martin notched his first tally 2:11 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:12 into the second and at 3:03 into the third.Stayner also got points from Corey DeRose, who also had one goal and one assist. Dakota Hynes also scored for Stayner. In addition, Stayner received assists from Sean Healy, Brett Gauthier, Zachery Hannon, and Jason Seeley, who contributed one a piece. Schomberg did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Cougars average 4.8 goals per game. Stayner was unable to stop Schomberg from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cougars eventually piled up 35 shots on goal. Aaron Taylor rejected 33 shots on goal for the Siskins. Stayner incurred 24 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Schomberg's starting goalie, Taylor Ewart, made 12 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Garett Taylor, who stopped five shots. The Cougars incurred 20 minutes in penalty time with five minors. |
