Fergus blows out Stayner, 6-3Centre Wellington Sportsplex Sun, Nov 17, 2013 Story by Narrative Science.
The Fergus Devils had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 6-3 win over the Stayner Siskins. Fergus was led by Steven Domenichini, who grabbed one goal and one assist. Domenichini scored 19:47 into the second period to make the score 4-2 Fergus. James Murray picked up the assist. The Devils stifled Stayner's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Fergus found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Devils have scored at the pace of 3.5 goals per game during the current campaign. Fergus got an offensive boost from its blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Fergus also got points from Murray, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Fergus also had goals scored by Mackenzie Cleveland, who had two and Cody Gresswell and Mikael Ruffini, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Fergus were Tristan Bran, who had two and Ben Roelofson, Patrick Snell, Mathew Clarke, Dustin Scheer, and Dominic Weathall, who each chipped in one. The Siskins kept the Devils' goalie busy throughout the game, and Alex Elliott made 32 saves on 35 shots. Stayner was helped by Brandon Watson, who registered one goal. Watson scored 2:28 into the second period to make the score 1-1. Jesse Anderson assisted on the tally. Sean Healy also scored for Stayner. More assists for Stayner came via Cooper Martin, Ricky Darrell, and Jason Seeley, who contributed one a piece. Fergus incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Siskins' Jay Payton stopped 18 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Stayner incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. For the Siskins, Kyle Lafreniere was ejected from the game.
