Caledon squeaks by Huntsville, 3-2

The Caledon Golden Hawks and the Huntsville Otters were evenly matched throughout their contest, but Caledon made the most of its opportunities and won, 3-2.

Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Jacob Arsenault's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.

The Golden Hawks' penalty kill excelled, as Caledon gave up zero goals despite allowing seven power plays.

The Golden Hawks were led by Arsenault, who grabbed one goal. Arsenault scored 16:38 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Caledon. Chris Smith picked up the assist.

Caledon stifled Huntsville's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Golden Hawks' offense rang up 33 shots on the Otters' net. Caledon was forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as it racked up 28 penalty minutes.

Caledon also got points from Daniel Cafagna, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Christian Bonaldi also scored for Caledon. In addition, Caledon received assists from Patrick Savella, who had two.

Huntsville was helped by Nathan Zantigh AP, who tallied one goal. Zantigh AP scored 16:22 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Josh Zantigh AP provided the assist. Huntsville also got a goal from Jake McIntyre as well. More assists for Huntsville came via Bryan Austin, who had one.

Chris Vellucci recorded 19 saves for the Golden Hawks. Caledon registered one goal on six power play opportunities. The Otters' TJ Sherwood stopped 30 shots out of the 33 that he faced. Huntsville incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
