Penetang rips Alliston, 4-1

The Penetang Kings had a two-goal lead after two periods and cruised the rest of the way en route to a 4-1 win over the Alliston Hornets.

Penetang was led by goalie Adam Redgate, who finished with 33 saves while allowing one goal. Redgate certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 2.38 entering the contest.

The Kings were led by Matt Fischer, who tallied one goal and one assist. Fischer scored on the power play 6:04 into the second period to make the score 2-1 Penetang. A holding penalty on Zack Byblow had put Penetang on the power play. Hayden Cole provided the assist.

The Kings excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Penetang forced Alliston goalie Tyler Brindle to work between the pipes, taking 39 shots.

Penetang also had goals scored by Jordan Schwartz, who had one and Myles York, who had two. More assists for Penetang came via Nate Archer, Kyle Burns, Mackenzie Bumstead, and Jesse Moreau, who contributed one a piece.

The Hornets did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Alliston averages 4.5 goals per game. The Kings were unable to stop the Hornets from sending pucks towards the net, and Alliston eventually piled up 34 shots on goal. The Hornets gave up more goals than its normal season average. Alliston gives up 1.7 goal per game.

The Hornets were led by Dalton Payne, who scored the team's only goal. Payne scored 2:02 into the second period to make the score 1-1.

Penetang incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. Tyler Brindle made 35 saves for Alliston on 39 shots. The Hornets incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
