Orillia downs Stayner in overtime, 2-1 (OT)

Jake Shaw gave the Orillia Terriers a 2-1 (OT) victory over the Stayner Siskins when he scored 1:12 into the extra period.

Stayner was stymied by Orillia netminder Gordie Weiss, who stopped 36 shots during the victory. Weiss certainly lowered his goals against average, which was 4.15 entering the contest.

The Terriers were paced by Shaw, who racked up one goal and one assist.

The Siskins were unable to stop Orillia from sending pucks towards the net, and the Terriers eventually piled up 39 shots on goal.

Jason Binnie also scored for Orillia. In addition, Orillia received assists from Ryan Tucci, Kyle Nikkanen, and Josh Allan, who each chipped in one.

Stayner could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Siskins put an average of 4.3 pucks into the net per game. Stayner forced Orillia goalie Weiss to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots.

The Siskins were led by Corey DeRose, who scored the team's only goal. DeRose scored 12:54 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Dakota Hynes provided the assist.

The Terriers incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors. Jay Payton recorded 37 saves for Stayner. The Siskins incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
