Cornwall boosted by Piccolino's play in net, beats Carleton Place 2-1

A stellar performance between the pipes by Jordan Piccolino helped the Cornwall Colts defeat the Carleton Place Canadians, 2-1.

The win by Cornwall clinched the best of seven series at 4-3.

The Colts were led by Billy Ulrick, who finished with one goal. Ulrick scored 10:17 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Cornwall. Carl Belizario picked up the assist.

Alexandre Gendron also scored for Cornwall. More assists for Cornwall came via Michael Pontarelli, Marly Quince, and Jake Martin, who contributed one a piece.

Carleton Place kept Cornwall's goalie busy throughout the game, and Piccolino made 40 saves on 41 shots.

The Canadians were led by Luke Martin, who scored the team's only goal. Martin scored 7:11 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Carleton Place. Elias Ghantous provided the assist.

The Colts incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors and had no power play opportunities. Brendan Oneill made 23 saves for Carleton Place on 25 shots. The Canadians avoided the penalty box for the entire game and scored zero goals off of two power plays.
