A stellar performance between the pipes by Brendan Oneill helped the Carleton Place Canadians defeat the Smiths Falls Bears, 2-1. After the loss made the series score 3-0 in the best of seven series, Smiths Falls faces elimination next time out. Carleton Place was led by Larry Smith, who finished with one goal. Smith scored on the power play 13:36 into the third period to make the score 2-1 Carleton Place. The Canadians had gotten the advantage when the Bears' Karson McCartney was sent off for roughing. Alex Globke picked up the assist. Carleton Place forced Smiths Falls goalie Patrick Martin to work between the pipes, taking 37 shots. Carleton Place also got a goal from Luke Kasteel as well. More assists for Carleton Place came via Jackson Howe, Stephen Bayliss, and Evan Peterson, who each chipped in one. The Bears' offense rang up 36 shots on the Canadians' net. Smiths Falls was led by Yannick Crete, who scored the team's only goal. Crete scored on the power play 1:46 into the third period to make the score 1-1. Tyler Akeson provided the assist. Brendan Oneill made 35 saves for Carleton Place on 36 shots. The Canadians incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Martin rejected 35 shots on goal for the Bears. Smiths Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors.
