The Ottawa Senators took the lead against the Hawkesbury Hawks in the first period and maintained it until the end of the game to secure a tight 2-0 victory. Luc Deschamps provided Ottawa with the game-winning tally when he scored 8:27 into the the first period. The Senators had gained a power play chance when Ross Kovacs was whistled for hooking. Ben Robillard provided the assist.The win by Ottawa clinched the best of seven series at 4-0. Alexandre Savard-Belanger frustrated Hawkesbury's offense all game, and stopped 33 shots en route to a shutout. The Senators pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 16 penalty minutes. Ottawa excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in seven chances. The Senators forced the Hawks goalie Carmine Guerriero to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots. Ottawa also got points from Robillard, who also finished with one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. More assists for Ottawa came via Ryan Collins and Derek Brown, who contributed one a piece. Hawkesbury's offense rang up 33 shots on Ottawa's net. The Senators registered one goal on seven power play opportunities. Guerriero recorded 33 saves for the Hawks. Hawkesbury incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
