HC Eppan beats HC Merano 8-3 as Campbell gets hat trickEisstadion Eppan Sun, Mar 04, 2012 The HC Merano Adler could not stop the HC Eppan Pirates' Peter Campbell, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-3 win. Campbell got on the scoresheet 5:00 into the second period. He then added goals at 14:23 into the second and at 17:22 into the third.HC Eppan found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. The Pirates average 3.0 goals per game. HC Eppan could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 22 minutes in penalties during the game. HC Eppan also got points from Robert Raffeiner, who also finished with one goal and one assist, Juha Pekka Loikas, who also tallied one goal and one assist, and Alex Rottensteiner, who also racked up one goal and two assists. HC Eppan also got a goal from Philipp Platter as well. More assists for HC Eppan came via Tobias Ebner, who had two, David Ceresa, who had three, and Stefan Unterkofler, Jonathan Coleman, and Hannes Hofer, who contributed one a piece. HC Merano's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven HC Eppan power plays. The Adler could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 28 minutes in penalties during the game. Mark Demetz made 30 saves for the Pirates on 33 shots. HC Merano's starting goalie, Massimo Quagliato, made 13 saves and finished with the loss before he was taken out in favor of Charles Corsi, who stopped 18 shots. The Adler registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
