The HC Merano Adler relied on the sparkling performance of Charles Corsi in net to grab a 3-1 win against the HC Eppan Pirates.

HC Merano pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 26 penalty minutes.

The referees were busy during the game, as 20 penalties were assessed during the course of the contest.

The Adler's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on 11 HC Eppan power plays.

HC Eppan put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow HC Merano to score on any of its four power plays. The Pirates' penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as HC Eppan finished with 14 penalty minutes.

Charles Corsi made 34 saves for the Adler on 35 shots. The Pirates' Mark Demetz stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced.
