Watson's hat trick boosts Val Pusteria over Bolzano, 6-1Leitner Solar Arena Sat, Feb 25, 2012 Ryan Watson lifted the Val Pusteria Lupi to a 6-1 victory with a hat trick against the Bolzano Foxes. Watson notched his first tally 19:12 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:39 into the third and at 19:48 into the third.Val Pusteria's penalty kill excelled, as the Lupi gave up zero goals despite allowing six power plays. Val Pusteria stifled Bolzano's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Lupi's penalty killing units received substantial work throughout the game as Val Pusteria finished with 14 penalty minutes. The leading offender was Joe Cullen, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Val Pusteria additionally got points from Nate DiCasmirro, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Val Pusteria got a goal from Matthew Kelly as well. More assists for Val Pusteria came via Max Oberrauch, who had two, Armin Hofer and Christian Mair, who contributed one each, and Christian Willeit and David Ling, who each chipped in three. The Lupi's Mikko Stromberg stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Val Pusteria registered two goals on five power play opportunities. Matthew Zaba made 17 saves for the Foxes on 22 shots. Bolzano incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. |
