DeConcilys leads Port Colborne over Fort Erie, 7-3

Zach DeConcilys had one goal and three assists to lead the Port Colborne Pirates to a 7-3 victory over the Fort Erie Meteors.

DeConcilys beat Connor Visca with a shot 8:52 into the second period to make the score 5-3 Port Colborne. Dayne Phillips provided the assist. DeConcilys dished an assist on Carson Minor's goal that made the score 1-0 Port Colborne at 2:03 into the first period. He then added assists on Dima Lavrenov's goal at 15:24 into the first and on Bryan Komasara's goal at 10:50 into the third.

Port Colborne pulled out the victory even though it was hit with 14 penalty minutes.

The Pirates made Meteors' netminders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 44 shots and forcing 37 saves. Visca made 20 stops and Matt Stuart made 17. Port Colborne bested its season scoring average. The Pirates average four goals per game. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

Port Colborne also got points from Minor, who also tallied one goal and one assist, DeConcilys, who also registered one goal and three assists, Mark Lucatra, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Jordan Warren, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Komasara, who also had one goal and one assist, and Lavrenov, who also registered one goal and one assist. Mitchell Pozsonyi also scored for Port Colborne. More assists for Port Colborne came via Patrick Murphy and Evan Huckalo, who each chipped in one.

Fort Erie put up an impenetrable defensive front on the penalty kill, and did not allow Port Colborne to score on any of its six power plays. The Pirates were unable to stop the Meteors from sending pucks towards the net, and Fort Erie eventually piled up 38 shots on goal.

Morgan Hudson turned away 35 pucks between the pipes for Port Colborne. The Meteors incurred 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors.
