The St. Thomas Stars had trouble finding ways to stop the St. Marys Lincolns, which beat Stars, 7-1. Bryan McCauley was all over the ice for St. Marys, as he tallied one goal and two assists in the win. McCauley scored on the power play 12:24 into the first period to make the score 2-0 St. Marys. The Lincolns earned a power play opportunity when Colin Mooney was put in the box for boarding. Shayne Rhyno assisted on the tally. St. Thomas was stymied by St. Marys netminder Craig Wood, who stopped 26 shots during the victory. Wood managed to improve on his goals against average, which stood at 3.56 prior to the game. St. Thomas was held below its usual level of production. The Stars average four goals per game. St. Thomas could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 19 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Chris Maton, who totaled five minutes in penalty time with one major. The Stars were led by Mac Wood, who scored the team's only goal. Wood scored 13:49 into the second period to make the score 5-1 St. Marys. Mooney picked up the assist. The Lincolns ended with 13 minutes in penalty time with four minors and one major. For St. Marys, Jordan Leyser was ejected from the game. St. Thomas registered zero goals on two power play opportunities. The Stars ran into disciplinary problems during the contest, and Maton was ejected from the game.
