The Owen Sound Greys tried to dig themselves out of a three-goal hole, but the Listowel Cyclones held on for a 5-4 victory. A goal by Dylan Sayles put Listowel up 5-2 in the second period, but Owen Sound pulled to within one on Kristopher Dobinson's tally 7:30 into the third period. Patrick Bell had two goals to lead the Cyclones to victory. Bell found the back of the net on the power play 9:32 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and again while 16:05 into the first to make the score 3-1 Listowel. The Greys were unable to stop Listowel from sending pucks towards the net, and the Cyclones eventually piled up 41 shots on goal. Listowel had trouble staying out of the sin bin throughout the game as it finished the game with 14 penalty minutes for three opposing power plays. The leading offender was Sam Patterson, who totaled eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Listowel additionally got points from Jeff Bauer, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Colten Pickett, who also registered one goal and one assist. More assists for Listowel came via Caleb Cameron, who had two and Kyle Ellis, Jarrett Kup, and Brandon McDonald, who each chipped in one. Owen Sound's offense efficiently hummed along to the tune of 34 shots put on the Cyclones' net. The Greys could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 14 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Zac Coulter, who totaled four minutes in penalty time with two minors. Owen Sound also got points from Tyler Crawford, who also registered one goal and one assist and Dobinson, who also had two goals and one assist. Trevor Hughson also scored for Owen Sound. Other players who recorded assists for Owen Sound were Mitch Wright, who had two and Jonathan Langford, Brooks Nelthorpe, and Matt Gowland, who contributed one each. Brandon McDonald made 30 saves for Listowel on 34 shots. The Cyclones registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Jacob Keogh recorded 36 saves for Owen Sound. |
